7 Days Wild Encounters and Coastal Retreat

Depart Nairobi in the morning by jeep, heading north to Samburu National Reserve. Arrive in time for lunch, followed by an afternoon game drive. Spot unique wildlife such as Grevy’s zebras, Somali ostriches, and gerenuks. Overnight at a Samburu lodge or camp.

Rise early for a hearty breakfast before embarking on a full day game drive. As the sun rises over the arid landscape, watch for the Samburu Special Five—Grevy’s zebra, Somali ostrich, gerenuk, beisa oryx, and reticulated giraffe—species unique to this region. Predators such as lions and cheetahs may also be spotted prowling the savannah, and leopards are known to lounge in the acacia trees.

Have lunch in the afternoon and proceed for venturing deeper into the reserve. Keep an eye out for elephants, dik-diks, and a variety of bird species, including the vividly colored vulturine guineafowl. Samburu's rugged beauty, characterized by its dramatic landscapes of rolling hills, dry riverbeds, and doum palms, offers spectacular photo opportunities.

Return to your lodge for dinner and an evening under the stars, accompanied by the distant sounds of the wild.

After breakfast, embark on a scenic drive to Lake Naivasha, arriving by midday. Check in at Naivasha Kongoni Lodge and have lunch. Later in the evening enjoy a relaxing boat safari on the lake, spotting hippos and diverse bird species. Optionally, explore Crescent Island for a walking safari at an extra cost. Overnight at a Naivasha lodge.

After an early breakfast, depart Naivasha and journey south toward the iconic Amboseli National Park, a haven for wildlife set against the awe-inspiring backdrop of Mount Kilimanjaro. Arrive in Amboseli in time for a late lunch at your lodge.

In the afternoon, set out on a thrilling game drive through Amboseli’s diverse ecosystems, ranging from its expansive open plains to lush swamps. The park is famous for its majestic elephant herds and Mt Kilimanjaro.

As you explore, watch for other wildlife, including lions resting in the shade, cheetahs stalking prey, and grazing herbivores like zebras, wildebeests, and antelopes.

Return to your lodge in the evening for a delicious dinner and an overnight stay, surrounded by the sounds of the African bush.

After breakfast, check out of the lodge and start your safari to Diani via road. Arrive in Diani, check in and have lunch. Later proceed to explore the beach where the Indian Ocean’s turquoise waters and soft sands await. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

Wake up to the soothing sound of waves and the warm embrace of the coastal breeze. Begin your day with a leisurely breakfast at your beachfront resort.

Spend the morning lounging on Diani Beach, renowned for its powdery white sands and crystal-clear waters. For the adventurous, engage in exciting water sports at an extra cost such as snorkeling, scuba diving, or kite surfing, exploring the vibrant marine life and colorful coral reefs. Alternatively, take a refreshing dip in the ocean or simply relax under the shade of a swaying palm tree with a good book.

After lunch, consider optional activities to enrich your coastal experience. Visit the nearby Colobus Conservation center to learn about the conservation of the endangered colobus monkey or explore the breathtaking Shimba Hills National Reserve, which offers a unique blend of coastal rainforest and wildlife, including the rare sable antelope.

In the evening return to your resort for a sumptuous seafood dinner.

After breakfast, return to Nairobi via road. Arrive in the afternoon with fond memories of Kenya’s breathtaking wilderness and serene coast.
