Itinerary

Your safari adventure begins with a scenic drive through the Great Rift Valley, offering stunning vistas and opportunities to capture the beauty of Kenya’s diverse landscapes. Upon arrival at Maasai Mara National Reserve, check into your lodge or camp and enjoy a hearty lunch as you prepare for your first encounter with the reserve's incredible wildlife.

In the afternoon, set out for a game drive that introduces you to the awe-inspiring spectacle of the Great Migration. During this season, the plains come alive with massive herds of wildebeests, zebras, and gazelles moving in search of greener pastures. As you traverse the golden savannah, you may witness predators like lions and cheetahs stealthily stalking their prey. Your guide will navigate towards key migration hotspots, such as river crossings where Nile crocodiles lie in wait. Along the way, keep an eye out for other resident wildlife like elephants, giraffes, and warthogs.

In the evening head back to the camp for dinner and overnight stay.

Embark on a full-day game drive after gamedrive. Your guide will take you to the heart of the Great Migration activity.

Make your way to the Mara River, a dramatic stage for one of nature's most thrilling spectacles: the river crossings. Here, herds of wildebeests gather nervously at the riverbanks, hesitating to plunge into the crocodile-infested waters. Witness the breathtaking event as the animals muster the courage to cross, while predators such as lions and leopards take advantage of the chaos.

Break for a picnic lunch at a designated spot within the reserve, surrounded by the sounds of nature. After lunch, continue exploring the rolling savannahs and woodlands. Visit areas with high predator activity, where lion prides lounge in the shade, cheetahs scan the horizon for prey, and leopards rest on tree branches. As you drive, you’ll also encounter scavengers like hyenas and vultures, completing the intricate web of the Mara’s ecosystem.

In the afternoon, explore quieter sections of the reserve for a more intimate wildlife experience. Watch playful elephant calves learning to use their trunks and observe the elegant gait of giraffes as they browse on treetops. End the day with a scenic drive back to your lodge, soaking in the spectacular sunset over the Mara plains. In the evening head back to the camp for dinner.

After breakfast, visit a local Maasai village to learn about the rich culture and traditions of this iconic community. Participate in their traditional dances, explore their homes, and hear stories about their harmonious relationship with nature. Depart for Lake Nakuru National Park, famous for its shimmering alkaline lake and thriving birdlife. On arrival, check in at your hotel, have lunch and proceed for an afternoon game drive through the park’s varied habitats. The acacia woodlands and grasslands are home to endangered species like rhinos and Rothschild’s giraffes. You'll also encounter baboons, buffaloes, and possibly tree-climbing lions. The day ends with a scenic drive along the lake, where thousands of flamingos often create a mesmerizing pink hue.

Head back to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

Check out of Nakuru Hotel and head to Lake Naivasha for a serene boat ride on the freshwater lake. Drift across the tranquil waters, surrounded by lush papyrus and a variety of bird species, including fish eagles, kingfishers, and cormorants. Keep an eye out for hippos lounging in the shallows. The boat ride also offers a chance to see wildlife like giraffes and zebras grazing along the shoreline. Afterward, proceed with your journey to Amboseli. Arrive in time for late lunch, check in and afternoon rest.

In the evening you will have dinner and overnight stay.

Have breakfast and begin your game drive in the open savannahs, where iconic wildlife like zebras, wildebeests, and antelopes roam. Venture to Observation Hill for panoramic views of the park, and look out for predators like lions and cheetahs lurking in the grasslands. Amboseli's swamps are particularly rich with birdlife and are frequented by hippos and elephants cooling off. The contrast between the dry plains and lush wetlands creates an unforgettable backdrop for your safari adventure.

In the evening, head back to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

After breakfast, start your journey back to Nairobi. Reflect on the unforgettable experiences of your safari as you drive through Kenya's diverse landscapes. Upon arrival in Nairobi in the afternoon, you will be dropped off at your hotel in Nairobi city center or westlands.
